Kent

Kent cut his teeth in cover bands playing 70’s and 80’s ‘alt-college-rock’, and in the mid-90s formed “Collins Gate” – an eclectic world-pop-rock band that became the foundation for his understanding of real band dynamics and how to get a song to ‘work’ live. After a short-lived, Peter Gabriel styled stint in “Staring at the Sea”, he stumbled across a friend’s all-girl grunge-pop band “Lovely Crash” and realized that the fun had been missing for too long. “kelp” was born from that epiphany. Kent currently teaches filmmaking at the University of Cincinnati, is guitarist and songwriter with “Oh So Luminous” and is an accomplished filmmaker.
