Jim started pounding on the skins early in life, his brother turning him onto Rush was a life-changing moment. Playing in several cover/original bands based out of Hamilton, Ohio, he was known for his solid, thunderous foundation. He had more or less put the kit aside after his band “Uncle Six” was on the brink of success and lost their vocalist to Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s band. While working as the booking agent at Cincinnati’s Madcap Puppet Theater, he met Kent and the “Rush bond” along with the need to get back out and bang on the drums brought him into kelp. He was an avid champion of the downtrodden, running a couple benefit festivals for disaster relief, and was known for his vocal stance politically. He succumbed to a heart condition in early 2016, and is sorely missed.
