Now You Know – (1977, The Real Kids)

The Real Kids were Boston-based and it’s actually a little hard to track down some of their stuff. They got a huge boost from the old Bomp! Records compilations that I would dearly love to find. Even they lyrics are hard to track down, and I had to guess what they hell he actuasly is singing in the “All the change was up to you” line ’cause I’m almost positive that’s not right. 😉

I’ve always really dug the opening guitar riff – so simple but damn effective!

Now You Know – 1977, The Real Kids
written by John Felice

I thought that you had it down
Ever since you put me down
nobody’s seen you round so
don’t come runnin’ to me

I hear that you’re on your own
well how you like bein’ alone
baby this ain’t your home so
don’t come running to me
I said
Now you know, now you know

yeah – I told you so
i told ya before
oh girl, i guess you got
what you were lookin’ for
baby now you know

don’t wanna know what you been through
all the change was up to you
but baby i wanna know who
who you think you are

don’t wanna know what he said
or the games he played with your head
i bet you wish that you was dead now
well now you know

I said
Now you know, now you know

yeah – I told you so
i told ya before
oh girl, i guess you got
what you were lookin’ for
baby now you know

I thought that you had it down
Well ever since you put me down
nobody’s seen you round so
don’t come runnin’ to me

I hear that you’re on your own
well how you like bein’ alone
baby this ain’t your home so
don’t come running to me

Now you know, now you know
Now you know, now you know

yeah – I told you so
i told ya before
oh girl, i guess you got
what you were lookin’ for
baby now you know
